Why is my dog licking the air? Is it because he/she has too much energy or is it some type of nervousness. You may have noticed that you can feel your dog’s energy at times that he/she was not feeling well such as the beginning of the season or when it rained a lot. If it is a nervousness you may notice your dog licking the air because he/she is nervous about something.

There are several answers to the question: “Why is my dog licking the air?”. One reason for excessive licking is he/she is using it as a way to get rid of smell. This can be more serious than just using it to get rid of smell. You may want to make sure that your dog does not have any medical issues so that it does not become a problem for them.

Another reason is that dogs like to feel safe around you: When he/she starts licking the air then he/she is getting that nice feeling that they need. You want to make sure that your dog does not have any illnesses or any type of heart problems. It would be best if you took your dog to the vet to check out if anything was wrong with him/her before you found out why is my dog licking the air. I am not saying that if something were to happen that your dog would not be able to breathe. You should always take your dog to the vet to make sure that everything is alright.

There is one more reason and it is a big one: Dogs lick the air because it makes them feel safe. Even though your dog may not have the ability to jump over something tall and make his/her way to the other side, you know that he/she still wants to be there with you and feel safe. Your dog wants to feel secure when they are with you and the only way to do this is to make sure that their air is clean. Making sure that your dog has fresh air and that they are away from other dogs that may bite them is what is going to keep your dog safe.

Now you are probably asking yourself: “How can I teach my dog to do this? “, which is a very good question. The most important thing to do when you find out why your dog is licking the air is to calm them down and make them realize that what they are doing is not okay and it will not get them anywhere. I would suggest that you try to take your dog’s temperature with your palm. Once your dog finds their temperature comfortable, they should be able to let go of the air lick and relax. This is the best way to let them know that they can trust you and they don’t have to do this.
